Description: The Twelfth Doctor is an anomaly. We call him the 12th Doctor, but he's the 13th version of the Doctor. Also, Time Lord biology only allows them to regenerate 12 times, but he was technically the 13th regeneration. (The 10th Doctor regenerated twice and the War Doctor was a secret regeneration. The numbers are all off, but we Whovians accept it because it fits in with the Timey Whimy absurdities of the show.)

The 12th Doctor was over 2,000 years old when he first regenerated. Where the 11th Doctor had some social quirks, the 12th Doctor is downright alien with his social awkwardness, which is okay because he IS an alien. And he plays the guitar, which rocks. And it echoes Capaldi's punk rock past.

If ever there was someone who was born to be the Doctor, it was Peter Capaldi (and David Tennant). Capaldi's history as a Whovian goes all the way back to the beginning when he was a kid. His obsession with Doctor Who from his young years to his late teens is well documented. Not only did he actually get some fan art published in the Doctor Who magazine, he also had letter's to the editor published. He might be more obsessed with Doctor Who than I am. To this day, his wife won't let him watch Doctor Who at the house because he gets too into it.
